ABSTRACT
Burner calciner is an attempt to burn the material before it goes to the kiln inlet which is very important for the calcination process. To carry out combustion, of course, an appropriate and adequate fuel is needed. Because of the need for fine coal (fine coal) material in the calcination process, gate valves and pipes are a means of transporting fine coal material to the calciner, of course an actuator is needed that is able to open and close the gate effectively and efficiently which aims to limit the supply of fine coal. coal to be brought for the combustion process in the calciner.

There is a need for a system change in supplying the material so that it will maintain the quality of transport and also improve safety in the material transport process. The design of the Pneumatic gate valve is to open the slide gate effectively using a pneumatic cylinder machine which is carried out by conducting field observations and literature studies in order to find out the design and specifications of the Pneumatic cylinder that is suitable to be applied to the Gate valve transport material to the calciner burner. From the existing data, calculations are carried out to determine the actuator that will be used in the design as well as the quantity and time interval to close the gate using a pneumatic cylinder actuator.

The installation of a working system of opening and closing the gate using a pneumatic cylindrical actuator can produce material transport performance to a representative calciner, and increase the safety factor.
