Karakteristik Spray Biodiesel Callophyllum Inophyllum dan Campurannya dengan Pemanasan

Abstract


Karakteristik Spray peran penting dalam menentukan kinerja mesin diesel. Bahan bakar dengan viskositas tinggi menghasilkan karakteristik spray dengan atomisasi lebih besar. Pemanasan bahan bakar mampu memperbaiki kualitas pembakaran. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh pemanasan bahan bakar terhadap karakteristik spray tip penetration, velocity of spray, dan spray cone angel. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental pada campuran bahan bakar minyak biji nyamplung (Callophyllum Inophyllum) dan minyak diesel dengan komposisi B0, B20, B30 dan B100 dan variasi pemanasan bahan bakar 70 oC, 90 oC dan 110 oC. Bahan bakar diinjeksikan pada nozzle tester dengan tekanan 13.8 MPa. Spray yang terjadi direkam dengan high speed camera pada 480 fps dengan resolusi 224×168. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan temperatur dapat mempengaruhi karakteristik spray, yaitu pada komposisi B0 dengan pemanasan 110 oC, mendapatkan spray yang paling baik yaitu spray tip penetration sebesar 123.44 mm, spray angle 11.22o dan velocity of spray 32.07 mm/ms.
