Perancangan Desain Surface Kemasan Sekunder Sachet Bir Pletok untuk SB Setu Babakan

Abstract

The development of traditional drinks is one of the most valuable assets in preserving the local culture. Many business player of  MSME develop traditional drink into several different type of product, for example ready to drink packaging and powder or other forms. Endang Suratman as a businessman of MSME focus on traditional drink Bir Pletok SB Setu Babakan is currently planning to develop new variant product Bir Pletok SB in sachet packaging. In addition to developing his business, he also wants to contribute to preserving Betawi culture for young people. Therefore, the target market of this product to attract young people to be interested in traditional drinks, especially who live in Jabodetabek area. For this reasons Bir Pletok SB requires to design secondary packaging of the sachet. Through this design, it is hoped that modern and contemporary packaging will be able to attract attention of target market. For this research, it is produces that the surface packaging design is made the new 90’s design style with flat design illustrations that give a retro impression but still look modern. The design use sans serif typeface and scripts with font exploration makes the packaging surface design seem modern and contemporary. In addition, the color an illustration used are taken from iconic Betawi culture. The contents are packaging design will be an attractive design that has a modern, contemporary impression and still maintains the characteristic of Betawi culture.
